7th Annual Quilter’s Patchwork Tour 2012
Destination: Ohio Amish Country Adventure
Tentative Itinerary:
Day 1: Mon., May 9 - The tour will depart from Creemore at 7:15a.m., Barrie, Kozlov Mall (at the back entrance to the Metro Store) at 8:00a.m. and the Tour Office at 8:30a.m. (Overnight parking is available at the Tour Office – hwy 88 & 400.) Remember to bring with you your Valid Canadian Passport for the border crossing into the USA. Please keep this document with you and be prepared to present it at the border. Today is a travelling day to Akron, Ohio with stops enroute for lunch and coffee breaks. In the late afternoon we will check into the Quaker Inn at Akron University. Sleep in the Silos! This was once the site of the Quaker Oats Company! Tonight enjoy dinner at the Inn and with a fabulous one woman comedy show “The Six ages of Woman!” Listen in on six phone calls by Vicky to her friend Madge as she takes you on her journey from teenager to grandmother! (D).
Day 2: Tues., May 8 - This morning following breakfast we will meet our Akron guide and depart for a brief city tour of Akron. We will visit the Stan Hywet Mansion & gardens, former home to Goodyear Baron Frank Seiberling and have lunch on own in the Carriage House. In the afternoon we will have stop at Joann Fabrics in Canton which is probably the nicest fabric store in area. Then it is onto Berlin and we’ll check into the Berlin Hotel and Suites. Dinner will be served next door at Bountiful Harvest Banquet Center, then free time to enjoy the grounds, indoor movie theater at the Inn, swimming pool, hot tub, etc! (B & D)
Day 3: Wed., May 9 –Today’s itinerary will include: a guided tour back roads tour with our local Amish guide and quilter Sarah Troyer. You will remember what a delight Sarah was last year and we’ve requested her again for this trip. We will start our day with a visit to Millers Dry Goods in Charm, it is the oldest quilt and fabric shop in the county, with lots of great deals on supplies and patterns! Lunch will be at Mrs. Yoder’s Kitchen in Mount Hope then visit Lone Star Quilts and Fabrics in the afternoon. We will return to the hotel at 3:00p.m. for free time and relaxing. This evening dinner will be served at Hotel Millersburg.
Day 4: Thurs., May 10 - Today’s Itinerary includes: Zinck's Fabrics in Berlin followed by free time to shop at the over 30 specialty shops lining Main Street. In the evening a special dinner has been arranged at the home of David and Esta Hershbergers. (B & D).
Day 5: Fri., May 11 - We will check out of the Inn following breakfast and visit Hershberger Bakery and Farm Market which is famous for their stuffed cookies, jams, jellies, pickles. Then we will travel to the MillCreek Mall in Erie, Penn. for 2 hours of shopping that will include Macy’s, JC Penny and much more. We will stop for duty free shopping & meal breaks enroute home. Return to Barrie will be at approx. 9:00p.m. & to Creemore by 10:00p.m. (B).
Tour includes: motor coach transportation with tour director, 4 nights hotel & taxes, baggage handling, 4 breakfasts, 1 lunch, 4 dinners, local step on guide in Ohio, admissions to listed attractions, shopping, duty free shopping and HST EXEMPT.

PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP:
A Valid Canadian Passport - the best form of Identification
As of June 1, 2009, a Valid Canadian passport is required for those travelling to the United States by land, air or cruise ship.
Canadian Residents Holding non-Canadian Passports: Upon entry into the USA by land, you must fill out Form I-94, and pay $6 US per person. Upon your return to Canada, the form must be presented to the customs office as proof that you have left the USA.
Hamilton Tours staff advise passengers of their travel document requirements, but we will not be responsible for passengers denied access to the US, or for re-entry into Canada. If this happens, you will be responsible for your own transportation home.
To facilitate border crossing, please keep your identification on your person.
