Newfoundland including the French Island of Saint-Pierre
Tentative Itinerary which is dependant on the Airlines 2010 flight schedules:
Day 1: Mon., July 5 – The tour will depart from the Barrie, Kozlov Mall & the Tour Office in the early morning. . (Overnight parking is available at our office.) Today we will fly from Pearson Airport to St. John's the capital city of Newfoundland for a 3-night stay at the Capitol Hotel. We will visit the Newfoundland Museum known as The Rooms in the afternoon. A group evening dinner will conclude our day. (Dinner)
Day 2: Tues., July 6 – This morning we will have a guided city tour and then visit Cape Spear National Historic Site, the most easterly point in North America. Then it’s onto Petty Harbour, a traditional Irish Newfoundland fishing community. This afternoon we’ll return to St. John’s for some free time in the afternoon for shopping or exploring the city. (Breakfast)
Day 3: Wed., July 7 – This morning we will enjoy a 2 hour Whale watching boat cruise, which includes viewing the Witless Bay Ecological Reserve, home to hundreds of puffins, followed by lunch at Gattheral’s in Bay Bulls. We’ll then continue along the Irish Loop and visit the archaeological dig at Ferryland. (Breakfast & Lunch)
Day 4: Thurs., July 8 - We’ll depart early this morning as we travel to Fortune on the Burin Peninsula. We will be taking the ferry to Saint-Pierre. The ferries do not accommodate cars and we will take a small carryon bag for our 1 night stay. The coach will remain in Fortune in a secure parking area. A Canadian passport is required for this part of the tour as the Island is a territory of France. (B)
Day 5: Fri. July 9 – This morning we will have a guided island tour on a mini bus. The Island of St. Pierre only 5 miles by 8 miles and the town is about 1 mile long. We will return to Newfoundland on the 1:30p.m. ferry. We will visit the Grand Banks Fishing Museum before travelling to Marystown for our overnight stay. (B & D)
Day 6: Sat. July 10 - This afternoon we will travel through Terra Nova National Park, past Gambo and onto Twillingate for our 2-night stay at the Anchor Inn. (B & D)
Day 7: Sun., July 11 – Today we will explore the beautiful outport community of Twillingate - an excellent vantage point for iceberg & whale sightings in June & July. This morning we will visit the Prime Berth Twillingate Fishing Museum. This afternoon’s activities include: a visit to the Twillingate Museum dedicated to Georgia Stirling, the Church and Long Point Lighthouse. Tonight we will enjoy an evening of traditional Newfoundland food and entertainment. (B & D)
Day 8: Mon., July 12 – This morning we will visit the Mary March Regional Museum & Beothuk Village to learn about the now-extinct Beothuk Indians of Newfoundland. In the afternoon we will visit King’s Point & Rattling Brook Falls before traveling onto Corner Brook for our 2 night stay. Overnight: Gleynmill Inn, Corner Brook. (B & L)
Day 9: Tues., July 13 – Today we begin with a visit to the Corner Brook Museum. This afternoon we will explore the beauty of the area west of Corner Brook – out to places like Blow Me Down & Halfway Point. (B & D)
Day 10: Wed., July 14 – Today may become your favourite day of the tour. This morning we will depart for Gros Morne National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will marvel at the spectacular ocean scenery, mountains and fjords. Our day will include: Rocky Harbour, Lobster Cove Lighthouse and Photographers Lookout. Tonight is a special treat as we check into the beautiful Gros Morne Resort for a 2 night stay. Think of it as a miniature Banff Springs Hotel and enjoy. Overnight: Gros Morne Resort, St. Paul’s Inlet (B& D)
Day 11: Thurs., July 15 – This morning is a free morning to relax. The resort offers a driving range, 9 hole golf course, Beauty Salon or catch up on your reading. This afternoon you will experience the beauty of the fresh water Fjords of Western Brook Pond. (Weather permitting) Please note that in order to reach the docks of the boat tour – we must walk (a fairly level) 3 km walk or approx. 45 minutes OR the Seal Island Boat tour which requires no walking. There will be a group dinner at the hotel. (B & D)
Day 12: Fri. July 16 – This afternoon we will depart for Deer Lake exploring more points of interest and photo stops in Gros Morne National Park. Depart for home from Deer Lake Airport arriving at Pearson International where our coach will meet us and return us to our original departure points. (B)
Tour includes: transfer by motor coach to Pearson International Airport in Toronto from Barrie, return flights, departure taxes, motor coach transportation with tour director, 11 nights accommodation, hotel taxes, baggage handling for 1 large suitcase each, 11 breakfasts, 3 lunches, 8 dinners, National Park pass, 2 boat cruises, attractions, museum visits and guided tours as listed in the itinerary & HST.

Twin $4430.00 (includes $498.16 HST)
Single $4900.00 (includes $563.68 HST)
An initial deposit of $500.00 is required at time of booking.
A second deposit of $1500.00 is due on April 15 with the balance due in full by June 1, 2010
A valid Canadian Passport is required for this tour.
RBC Travel Insurance is available through our office at the
time of booking at an additional charge.
