The Marvelous March Escape to Montreal
Day 1: Fri., March 12 - The tour departs from Barrie, Kozlov at 8:00a.m., Tour Office at 8:30a.m. and Newmarket, Ray Twinney Centre at 9:00a.m. Today we will travel to Montreal. We will check in to the beautiful Fairmont Queen Elizabeth Hotel for our 2 nights stay. A group dinner has been arranged this evening. (D).
Day 2: Sat., March 13 - This morning enjoy a full buffet breakfast in the hotel restaurant followed by a guided city tour. Our tour will include some of Montreal’s highlights as well as a visit to Chateau Dufresne which is dedicated the history of Montreal’s east side. We also have a unique opportunity to visit the Nincheri workshop which produced stained glass windows for more than 100 North American churches. This afternoon is free time to enjoy shopping in the downtown area or in the 18 mile underground shopping connected to our hotel or you could enjoy the hotel amenities including the pool or visit the Casino on your own. This evening we attend the Sucrerie de la Montagne for their sugaring off feast. There is a horse drawn sleigh ride, an authentic French Canadian meal and traditional live entertainment. After our meal enjoy the Maple taffy on snow and visit the General Store to purchase maple products and local handcrafts. (B & D).
Day 3: Sun., March 14 - After breakfast this morning we will continue our tour as we make our way to the Jean Talon Market. There will be time for shopping a one of Quebec’s best “farmers market” and you will be able to bring home fresh products as a souvenir of your visit. Return to Barrie at approximately 8:00p.m.
Tour departs: 2 nights at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth Hotel in downtown Montreal, baggage handling, hotel taxes, 2 buffet breakfasts, 2 evening dinners, guided city tour, admission to Chateau Dufresne and the Nincheri workshop, shuttle to local shopping & GST.
